What makes the air-lux glass façade system truly unique is the patented sealing concept. Whether for frameless sliding windows, pivot doors or descending windows: The air-assisted ring seal running around the window guarantees 100% impermeability – against driving rain, wind and noise, for example. In contrast to systems with sealing lips or brushes, this invisible, nearly maintenance-free air-lux sealing system offers consistent performance without signs of wear.

Operating properties

Structural sagging

Slight sagging and movement can occur in any structure. As a general rule, the higher the building, the more significant the structural movement. The patented air-lux sealing system remains 100% sealed with lintel sagging of up to 40 mm and base sagging of up to 20 mm.

Unique sealing system – how air-lux works

Sliding windows

When the seal is open (seal is inactive), the seal is rolled up and the sliding window can be moved with minimal effort.

By pressing the button, the seal is closed – air is introduced into the frame, which plumps up the seal. The seal presses against the sliding profile and closes the gap between the slider and the fixed frame to create a perfect seal. The button is pressed again to open the unit: The air leaves the unit and the seal retracts to its original concave profile. In contrast to systems with brush seals, air-lux does not compromise between tightness and operating properties.

Pivot doors

Two inflatable ring seals all around the pivot doors ensure that they are completely impermeable.

These are fully integrated into the aluminium profiles – without weak points in the corners and without the friction resistance that occurs in systems with conventional brush seals. By pressing the button, air is introduced into the frame and the seal is pumped up. The seal presses against the sliding profile and closes the gap between the pivoting and the fixed frame to create a perfect seal. The button is pressed again to open the unit: the air leaves the unit and the seal retracts to its original concave profile.

Descending window

To close the window, press the button to pump air into the seal.

The gap between the descending window and the fixed frame is sealed absolutely tightly. To reopen the window, the button is pressed again and the air escapes. The air and the seal retracts to its original concave profile.
